Q For you first weekly discussion, you'll do some preliminary research on an EU member country. Here's a list to choose from: Croatia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Bulgaria, Finland, Hungary, Austria Since there are eight in the class, I'd like each of you to choose a different country from this list, on a first-come, first-served basis. (You may make a quick initial post to declare which country you wish to research, as a place-holder.) Find out general information on the country--its history, political environment, business environment and culture, etc. A good starting point, especially for business cultures of a country, is ProQuest CultureGrams http://online.culturegrams.com.proxy.cityu.edu/world/. Also, for detailed information on a European country, try EuroStat https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat. (Hot tip du jour: On the EuroStat homepage, you'll see "Data" in the top bar which gives you a pull-down menu of virtually unlimited statistics on just about everything, organized by country. Use this source throughout the quarter to get in-depth current information about EU countries.) Finally, explain why you selected that country and given what you found in the research what would be the main issue facing an entrepreneur or manager attempting to do business in that country.

The country that I have chosen is Poland. Poland people originated from the Slavic people and have a long history. The Constitution of Poland laid down in 1791 was based on the Constitution of the United States which also granted freedom to the serfs. Poland was completely destroyed along with the Warsaw in the Second World War and once the war was over, the Poles rebuild the city and its historic sections so that they looked like original buildings.
